Split of a second

Dorothee Lang

He had seen her coming, had seen her
Walking all the way from the other side,
A dark silhouette against the frozen sky

For one sudden endless split of a second
He had believed that it was her again,
Them again, same features, different time

Just like the look they had exchanged,
A long while ago, still he wasn't sure
Whether it had ever happened

Dorothee Lang
