Midwinter

Shira Dentz

strong attachment
to the way it is—
on a pole
a dog bone
colored bandage
light shingles
a car turns
slim green rectangle
this cherry day.
sleep the heaps
of snow occasional
powdering
the sky goes all the way
to take a bet
would be
nothing new
for the crow
or whatever it is.
birds. an instance
of pleasure.
birds. an instance
of glass sky.
my own chimney
pulling.
