Variations of a Brother War ( Possibilities Triptych ) - 1

J. A. Tyler

Ghosts

What it meant to be Gideon was having fists. What it meant to be Gideon was what it meant to kiss Eliza hard on the mouth and have her melt into that chest. What it meant to be Gideon was to assume that what always was would always be and that taking birds from the trees was only a part of existing. What it meant to be Gideon was to deny death. What it meant to be Gideon was to revolt. What it meant to be Gideon was to watch the river, see it move, then beg for its stop.
