Computerized Color

Francis Raven

Purple velvet pillows burn with a flame
bearing a color that was heretofore
only available on television.
In fact, perhaps it was
the color of television
with the wax molding
the surrounding landscape
with the anticipation
of conceptually unfulfillible desires.
I later learned that the royal velvet
was manufactured from 100%!r(MISSING)ecycled
obsolescent computers
used previously in defunct dotcoms,
and that made all the difference,
and that made the color of the flame
turn in my mind
from a coincidence
into a conspiracy.
