CITY WALK XIII

Elisa Gabbert & Kathleen Rooney

A $10 bill     Wind hovering     Impertinent sentinel of busted neon      Fauxhemian
woman, the terror of eye contact     To steal is to violate the "body ellipse"
Functional, civil public space self-destructing     A small girl with a fixed smile
Emerging from the nothing there     Where "as the crow flies" does not apply     Money
is so abstract     Yet active     Beguiling     Nobody gets hurt     Politic means "crafty"
