Half Scary (Part 3)

Shane Jones

VI

Most things are anti-climatic.
This is the case
when the man finishes
the chimney built up around himself.
Someone asks the question
if the rest of the house
has people built inside its parts.
That is a good question.
It's a pulled string of imagination
you can run after
until the sky goes dark.
Until the storm clouds scare you off.

VII

I wake early
and open my closet
for pants and a shirt.
I suffer a mini-heart-attack.
Half Scary was waiting
behind my best suit.
The blue one you bought me
but I never wore.
