Marooned

Nava Fader

lake is purpling is violeting
all the eyes in the fishes
the berry under scale
weighs autumn cast
anchor to the end to the lip
of the leaf notches veins nurture
was hook in heart

pummeling fists on water
distances of turtles
between neck
and shell prosthetic fingertips
are tapping out the tune
peel back bark
is unspoken the spell
if I tell her I love her
broken or shelled

Nava Fader
