pink-think (a primer for girls of other colors)

Evie Shockley

sunk in the pink of wealth: stinky in
pink: rolling in bank that doesn’t account
for an interest in violet. pink eye: not

a medical condition, but the ability to spot
a good deal. pink rose, agency’s paradox:
no passive princess: a pig for power.

powder-puff? rare meat? half-moons, just
above the cuticles, hover over pink squares
of terra firma. a pretty panther, stealing along

a sax solo on pink pads, gets down with
the claws. mamí says, if life hands you poverty,
sell pink lemonade. yeah
, mama says, and

don’t forget your tutu is a bishop,
and winks.
