Coca Cola

Pirooz Kalayeh

Coca Cola once stood as tall as Bronto.
teeth the size of pillars;
razor sharp and scissor sweet.

He could drown an ocean
or slay the dead.

He lead with scrutiny,
unveiled new ferocity on the
meager and unpolluted,
was a mental kaleidoscope,
a midget among ants.

Didn’t take kindly to strangers.
Didn’t say no to a fight.

Was dragged
through tar
and other circumstances
when Water won out.

None took pity.
None were fooled.

This passing giant
pyramid of chains
would predict Giza and Pisa
could fall to the rain.
