About the Poems
by Derek Pollard
"Spark of Desire Magneto:" There was a time when nailing things to the wall was no longer necessary--I threw them out the window and watched them flutter around.
"Warning Open Windows Can Be Hazardous:" Then there came a time when I stopped throwing things out the window; we held them for a while and then threw them out together.
"If You Were To Die Right Now, Johnny Depp:" I was reading Berrigan's Sonnets while watching Cry Baby late last summer. Quit thinking of poems.
"An Elegy for the Innumerable:" Answers come easier than they usually do.
"The Archer and the Queen of Disks:" Cf. Christopher Smart, Jubilate Agno, Fragment B, Part 3, lines 124-38.
