Rauan Klassnik - Bio

Rauan Klassnik was born on a nice quiet night in Johannesburg. Or so I’m told. The All Blacks were playing the Springboks at Ellis Park. It was snowing and my dad was so nervous he paced a circle insistently about a sad looking Jacaranda tree in a park across from the hospital. Then my mother began to scream. I can still feel her voice filtering through the snow. My dad’s feet too. His first book, (Ron’s book, that is) Holy Land, a collection of prose-poems, will be released by Black Ocean Press in February 2008.
